D. Leuliette

Metaldyne
Timothy D. Leuliette is chairman, president and chief executive
officer of Metaldyne, a Heartland Industrial Partners company.
In this role, Mr. Leuliette oversees operation of the global
metal company, which is comprised of the former MascoTech,
Simpson Industries and Global Metal Technologies, Inc. (GMTI)
organizations. The vision of Metaldyne is to create customer
value by being the leading global designer and supplier
of high quality, low cost metal-formed components, assemblies
and modules for the transportation industry.
In addition
to his position at Metaldyne, Mr. Leuliette is also a founding
partner and senior managing director of Heartland Industrial
Partners, a private equity firm focusing on select industrial
companies primarily located throughout the Midwest region
of the country. Heartland Industrial Partners builds value
by investing in well-positioned industrial companies, whose
talent, technology, assets and market position afford them
the opportunity to be a platform for industry consolidation
and value-creation. The vision of Heartland Industrial Partners
as a long-term investor, combining strong financial and
operating acumen, creates a uniquely positioned fund that
is consistent with the corporate operation philosophy of
industrial companies and their customers.
Mr.
Leuliette was formerly president and chief operating officer
of Penske Corporation, a closely-held diversified transportation
services company managing businesses with annual revenues
exceeding $10 billion and more than 33,000 employees at
over 200 facilities worldwide.
Prior
to joining Penske Corporation, Mr. Leuliette was president
and chief executive officer of ITT Automotive Inc., and
senior vice president of ITT Industries, Inc. Before joining
ITT, he served as president and chief executive officer
of Siemens Automotive L.P. He also was a member of the Siemens
Automotive Managing Board and a corporate vice president
of Siemens AG. Mr. Leuliette was the first non-German to
hold this level of authority in the 143-year history of
the electrical and electronics company.
Before
joining Siemens, Mr. Leuliette was group vice president
for the Bendix Electronics Group of AlliedSignal Automotive.
He held several positions with the company including vice
president and general manager of Bendix Electronic Controls
Division; vice president of sales and marketing of the Bendix
Brake and Steering Division; and group director with AlliedSignal
Automotive. Mr. Leuliette also has held various engineering
and planning positions within Ford Motor Company and was
executive director of product planning for American Motors.
Mr.
Leuliette holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical
engineering and a Master of Business Administration from
the University of Michigan. He is a member of the Society
of Automotive Engineers; the Engineering Society of Detroit;
the Citizens Research Council of Michigan and the Citizens
Advisory Committee for the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
He is the chairman of the board of The Detroit Branch of
The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and serves on numerous
other boards including the Detroit Economic Club and Detroit
Renaissance. He is dedicated to the community and has strong
affiliations with the Leukemia Society of America, Children’s
Center, Vision 2000, Jobs for America’s Graduates,
Central Business District Association, Hospice of Southeast
Michigan, Arthritis Foundation and Junior Achievement. He
was recently honored as “World Trader of the Year”
by the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Leuliette works from Metaldyne's corporate headquarters
in Plymouth, Mich.
